Role of HR in Creating Sustainable Organization

Question: Discuss about theRole of HR in Creating Sustainable Organization. Answer: Introduction The sustainable organization is that organization who implements the sustainability strategies within their business process for achieving cultural and economic benefits through various environmental responsibilities (Snell et al., 2015). Some of the time, the meaning of organizational sustainability is misunderstood by the term financial suitability. However, financial sustainability is one of the features of organizational sustainability. However, to achieve a great success within the business, there always need sustainability in each and every decision which is making by the organization. Sustainability is actually the capacity by the help of which the organization is able to grow and carry on the business through changing environment. Main Context Current Situation of HRM Theories Nowadays managing is a very vital activity of human within an organization. By the help of an effective HRM system, the CEO of the hospital is able to manage, motivate and develop the entire organizational culture and the business process of the organization (Longoni et al., 2014). There are different types of HRM theories by the help of which the CEO and the HR managers of the Hospital are able to identify the requirements of the human resource within the organization. These theories also help them to detect the effective and efficient employees of their organizations. Goodwill or organizational reputation is the most important competitive advantage for any organization. Therefore, the CEO and the HR managers should maintain a good reputation about their organization within the market (Kramar, 2014). To maintain a strategic HRM within the organization, the CEO, and the HR managers have to perform certain responsibilities such as they should improve their training process to run the business successfully in future. Employment relations are actually is actually a discipline of the human resource management process by the help of which the organization is able to strengthen the relationships between the employer and their employees (Ulrich et al., 2012). The employee relations are consisting of several ideas, policies, and practices. Figure: Management Practices and Process Associated with Employee Relations The most important part of the employee relation is to recognize and identify the contribution and activities of the employee. The employee relation is actually the effort of the company to maintain the relationship between the employees and the employers (Jamali et al., 2015). If the organization has a good employee relation then that particular organization is able to provide fair and reliable treatment to their every employee, so that the employees will perform their job effectively and efficiently and should always remain loyal to the company. The modern organizations such as the hospitals need to manage the development and performance of the employees within that particular organization. By the help of the performance management, the organization is able to set the standard of their performance, able to monitor the progress of their performance and also able to build a better succession plan for their organization (Harris Tregidga, 2012). By the help of this performance management, the employees and the managers are able to get a formal and structured feedback about the business performance which takes place within the organization. This performance management process also motivates the employees of that particular organization and provides direction to the organization to develop their organizational performance (Florea et al., 2013). The tasks and the goals of the managers and the employees of that particular organization should be associated along with the business strategy of that organization. The HR has played a mo st important role in the development of the painless and consistent system of performance management within the organization. It is actually an ongoing process through which the communication between the employer and their employees takes place. Human resource is the most important resource for any organization to run their business successfully. For this reason, to motivate the employees and to give proper direction to them the organization need to communicate with them continuously. Communication is the most important factor for the professional development of an organization. To maintain the sustainable position of the organization the top level managers of that particular organization should communicate along with the external environment. Any type of miscommunication can hamper the entire business process and also affect the profitability of that particular organization. Recommendation to CEO in the First Hospital to Improve the HRM Operation HR management has a vital role in each organization, which helps in enhancing the effectiveness of the concerned firm (Ehnert et al., 2013). Various kinds of responsibilities are performed by the HRM department of the Organization, such as- planning and organizing recruitment and training process, judgment of the performance of the employees, maintaining the working atmosphere of the company, managing several critical issues which arose in between the employees, developing good relationship with community and so on. Looking after the safety of the employees in the workplace concerned is also one of the vital responsibilities of the HR manager and the CEO needs to implement these facilities. From various international researchers, it has been observed that the patients ar e not getting satisfaction by the medical services of this hospital, and these are been avoiding by some way. The reason may be of avoidance of the other working members of the association (Czinkota et al., 2014). So, the CEO along with the HR Department should be aware of a very typical problem which arises in this unit. The individual should take serious step regarding this, and solve the problem. Moreover, the CEO should form a team of four to five members for monitoring the activities of the employees and o ensure that the business processes is running efficiently without any issues. The person should organize a plan of discussion, where each and every employee of the hospital are allowed to share if the problems arising between them in this organization (Dubois Dubois, 2012). The HRM then can be able to think, judge and take the right decision to solve these. It is recommended that the CEO should motivate the employees for taking active participation in the decision-making pro cesses of the firm. At first, the issues need to be rectified and then with the help of effective strategies these issues needs to be resolved, so as to develop the brand reputation of the hospital throughout Australia (Ehnert Harry, 2012). The CEO of the hospital is to be recommended to recruit the effective HR who can be able to recruit talented employees for the organization and can build a good communication with the entire business team. Awa reness to stop absenteeism are been recommended to the CEO in order to discontinue of industrial disputation. The CEO is recommended to recruit such an HR manager, who will reduce the increase of staff grievances, and employ more employees for the hospital. As a result, the more workers it will be, the more customers satisfactory will be obtained. Transitive and Intransitive Verbs in German

Transitive and Intransitive Verbs in German When you look at a verb entry in a German-English dictionary, you will always find either a v.t. or v.i. written after the verb. These letters stand for a transitive verb (v.t.) and an intransitive verb (v.i.) and its important that you do not ignore those letters. They  indicate how you can use the verb properly when speaking and writing in German. Transitive (v.t.) Verbs The majority of German verbs are transitive. These types of verbs will always take the accusative case when used in a sentence. This means that the verb needs to be complemented with an object in order to make sense. Du magst ihn.  (You like him.) The sentence would sound incomplete if you said only: Du magst. (You like.) Transitive verbs can be used in the passive voice. The exceptions are  haben (to have), besitzen (to possess), kennen (to know), and wissen (to know). Transitive verbs  are used in the perfect and past perfect tenses (as an active voice) with the helping verb haben. Ich habe ein Geschenk gekauft. (I bought a present.) The nature and meaning of some transitive verbs require that they are complemented with a double accusative in a sentence. These verbs are abfragen (to interrogate), abhà ¶ren (to listen to), kosten (to cost money/something), lehren (to teach), and  nennen (to name). Sie lehrte ihn die Grammatik. (She taught him grammar.) Intransitive (v.i.) Verbs Intransitive verbs are used with less frequency in German, but it is still important to understand them. These types of verbs do not take a direct object and will always take the dative or genitive case when used in a sentence. Sie hilft ihm. (She is helping him.) Intransitive verbs cannot be used in the passive voice. The exception to this rule is when youre using the pronoun  es  in select  circumstances. Es wurde gesungen. (There was singing.) Intransitive verbs that express an action or a change of state will be used in the perfect and past perfect tenses, as well as  futur II with the verb sein. Among these verbs are  gehen  (to go), fallen  (to fall), laufen  (to run, walk), schwimmen (to swim), sinken (to sink), and springen (to jump). Wir sind schnell gelaufen. (We walked fast.) All other intransitive verbs will use haben  as the helping verb. These verbs include  arbeiten (to work), gehorchen (to obey), schauen (to see, look), and warten (to wait).   Er hat mir gehorcht. (He listened to me.) Some Verbs Can Be Both Many verbs can also be both transitive and intransitive. Which you use will depend on the context as we can see in these examples of verb fahren  (to drive): Ich habe das Auto gefahren. (Transitiv) (I drove the car.)Heute morgen bin ich durch die Gegend gefahren. (Intransitiv) I drove through the neighborhood today. To determine whether you are using the transitive or the intransitive form, remember to associate the transitive with a direct object. Are you doing something to something? This will also help you identify those verbs that can be both.

Religious Studies Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

Religious Studies - Research Paper Example However, a problem arises when God is thought of as a physical or metaphysical being because if this were true, God must have been created by something else, which is inconsistent with the belief that God created everything including time and space. The nature of God’s being cannot be imagined and certainly not positively identified; therefore the proof must be found in observing events that could occur only as the result of a creator. This paper will not rely on theological reasoning to supply an answer because this would rightfully be perceived as biased information. Rather, it addresses the concepts of open-mindedness and critical thinking. It will also draw from some of the great thinkers in history including John Hick, Immanuel Kant, David Hume, Isaac Newton, Karl Marx, Hildegard of Bingen, Descartes, Stephen Hawking and John Milton as well as the physical sciences and philosophical disciplines to provide evidence or disprove the existence of a higher power. John Milton a rgued that a restriction on the freedoms of thought also indicated an expectation that the citizens should allow someone else to do their thinking for them. This lack of use would lead to the same decay in form and ability that could be seen physically when muscles of the body were not used, creating people who were no longer able to determine morals and ethics on their own. This creation of automatons with no capacity for thinking on their own would serve only the devil’s work as it separates them from their natural spiritual path. He uses as support for his argument the idea that even God himself opted not to have automatons serving him on earth, but instead imbued mankind with the ability to think, and choose, for himself. Pointing to human reactions as proof, Milton said no one respects, loves or honors things that give love, obedience or devotion merely as a result of force or fear of the consequences. Instead, he says it is only through effort and experience that we are able to come to realize the depth of love freely given from one to another. In the same way, he says God places tests in front of people as a way of measuring them, testing their spirit and beliefs, allowing them to further define themselves in God’s own image if they so choose or to veer off in their own direction. â€Å"God therefore left him free, set before him a provoking object, ever almost in his eyes; herein consisted his merit, herein the right of his reward, the praise of his abstinence† (Milton, 1927). According to Milton, God intentionally places temptations and risks in front of us as a means of helping us to develop spiritually. By removing these tests and obstacles, the government is forsaking the intentions of God, standing in the way of the spiritual development of the nation and leaving it ripe for moral, ethical and social decay. As God himself entrusted the care, guidance and governance of each spirit each to itself, Milton argues that it is not th e place of the state or the church to impose its will upon the choices of the individual. Thus, religious liberty is defined as being the ability to exercise the freedom of choice in relation to what a man does, reads, thinks, speaks and dreams. In his arguments regarding the nature and existence of God, Descartes said that it does not matter whether we are dreaming or not because whatever our intellect tells us is, in fact, true. One of the first things that he perceived in this line of thought was that he had a

Police academy or Finger printing or Federal, state local agency Essay

Police academy or Finger printing or Federal, state local agency qualifications chose one of the three topic that you feel comfortable with - Essay Example cted the practice of law enforcement, the history of the technique, legal and ethical issues involving the use of the technique, practical implications of the technique for law enforcement personal at various levels, and future prospects for fingerprinting must be analyzed. Finger prints have had many definitions throughout history, and have been used in art, science, and law enforcement. The contemporary definition of a fingerprint states that a finger print can be defined as the unique pattern created by the friction ridges on all or part of a digit, or finger (â€Å"Glossary†, 2009). The term friction ridge is not intuitive. Friction ridges rare the scientific name for the raised portion of the outermost layer of skin, called the epidermis, that forms the unique shapes found in fingerprints (â€Å"Glossary†, 2009). Friction ridges form on the fingers, palm, toes, and soles of the feet of the fetus before it is born (Cowger, 1992, p.1). Despite the growth that occurs in childhood and adolescence, the patter of the friction ridges does not change, and thus provides the only physical characteristic of human kind with the specificity to identify an individual. Human beings first noticed fingerprints in prehistoric times. The earliest fingerprints are included as decorative elements in cave paintings found in Nova Scotia that date back thousands of years (German, 2006). In ancient Babylon, merchants recognized that though many people have similar patterns, no two individuals have the same exact fingerprint. These merchants used fingerprints as official seals on business agreements, much as contemporary merchants would use a Federal Identification or Social Security number (German, 2006). Similar methods of using fingerprints to identify merchants and government officials were found in fourteenth century Persia and China (German, 2006). These cultures made use of the impressions left by fingerprints as a tool for identification on documents, but did little

Urban regeneration assessment Essay Looking at the politics behind the drive for urban regeneration is about communities, integrating the social and private sectors to create mixed, sustainable communities, with housing, retail and commercial development which are the key to the regeneration process. The role of this actors is to bring to the table the needed ingredients and resources, to bring about the needed change and development of the environment. Due to the high cost of regeneration of land and buildings, this raise the question of the availability of finance for the private sector participation, because the more intense the level of development the more the process is dependent on financial markets and funds from the capital market. This was usually the case when the economy was booming, but due to the depression at the moments private participation is does not carried greater risk as its use to be. Recommendation This assessment tries to make the client to understand why investing in our urban community regeneration should be the priority at this critical period. Even with risk involved, when spread it is considerable worth why when you succeed. It’s also trying to bring in subsequent effort that the government of the United Kingdom is doing to encourage such practice. I therefore recommend the following. My perspective is that of a practitioner in the field of urban regeneration. And with the trend of event it’s seriously encourage private participation and will yield good rental income on the long run. I seriously recommend that private and public partnership with the government is the only sustainable way to achieve greatly in the pursuit of urban regeneration. And it’s the major way private developer could benefit from obtaining huge income arising from the development and renewal of our communities. References: Boxmer, B. etal (2005). The Role of Chance in William Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet :: Romeo and Juliet Essays

The Role of Chance in Romeo and Juliet In William Shakespeare's classic Elizabethan Tragedy "Romeo & Juliet" we are asked to determine what events in the story are chance, coincidence or fate. Although some scholars are persuaded to relate as to how chance and coincidence are tools of fate, I feel as though everything is either chance or coincidence. If everything was controlled by fate then life would be pointless. We would have no decisions to make, it would all be predetermined. That is why I don't believe in fate, and so, naturally I have determined that "Romeo & Juliet" is not controlled by fate. I was also told that people in the Middle East believe in fate full out. So much that they travel at crazy speeds in their cars around corners without thinking twice. They believe that if there is a car around that corner, then it was fated to happen and they would still die if they were going the speed limit. I believe that Romeo & Juliet dug there own holes with bad decisions. Chance plays a major part in the story. Everything starts in the very beginning when Montegue and Capulet servants just happen to cross paths in a public place. This is a chance meeting. Coincidence cannot be involved now because it is too early in the story. Also by chance, the servants are talking of their hatred of the other family and there unwillingness to bear insults. The opening line of the play is, "Gregory, on my word, we'll not carry coals. "(pg.6)" Meaning he will not stand for any insults. This results in the fight that forces Prince Escalus to make the decree that "If ever you disturb our streets again your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace." (pg.14) He is saying that the next person who starts a fight will be executed. This decree results in Romeo's banishment, and his banishment is the reason for Juliet faking her death, which caused both of them to die. Another act of chance is when Romeo climbs over the Capulet house's wall right next to Juliet's room. The very first coincidental event is on page 4, before the actual play begins, it is that the Montagues and Capulets are fighting.

Ethical Dilemma Essay

Stepping away from a company that has brought sales up to an increasing 15% will take courage. Will you have the courage to stand for what is right for the current workers working for a company that is working long hours and a few dollars a day or continue doing business that may cause backlash from the media and public? You are responsible for deciding if you will continue to do business with this company by your CEO while also having the name of your company in the local newspaper as doing business with equipment manufacturing company that doesn’t treat their employees with standards and morals. Ethics The company has standards to abide by and to conduct interactions with other companies. â€Å"Ethics is the code of moral principles and values that governs the behaviors of a person or group with respect to what is right or wrong† (Daft 2012, pg. 123). Continuing to do business will have its disadvantages. Many clients that are currently doing business with the company will look at the company’s decision to see if they will continue to do business. Managers are looked upon as role models of the organization and to set the standard ethics of a company (Daft, 2012). Making this decision isn’t just about you as a manager but your decision also stands for the employees of the company, shareholders, stakeholders, and customers (Daft, 2012). Prepare for backlash if you decide to continue to do business with a company that treats their workers like slaves. Every company has a code of ethics to abide by with any given situation and to go against the code which your company stands for will turn many believers in your company away. The company will experience a decrease in profits turning away from the company that has brought the company an increase of 15% of profit and a substantial amount of money. Now with losing 15% of profit, it will affect the money for the company. The company may not be able to employ as many workers as before with the substantial amount decreasing. Investors may look at this decrease as the company not holding its profit and value as it once did. While losing this profit, the company now has to find a way to make up for the loss of the profit. To continue to do business with this company, you have to decide if you would break any laws while continuing to do so. The equipment manufacturing company isn’t the responsibility of your company. The company doesn’t have a code of ethics or moral rights for workers. Is that the responsibility of your company? It’s not the company’s responsibility to handle the ethics for the company but to stand by the codes and morals that their company is based on. Continuing to do business with this company will not be breaking any laws. As a company that stands behind the code of ethics and morals, it would be best to part ways from this company to avoid breaking legal laws and company standards. As a manager, one has to make decisions for a company and will this benefit the company. Walking away from doing business with this company would be best. As a company not only is standing behind the code of ethics and morals of a company, one also has a reputation to maintain. Taking a stand and parting ways will keep a company’s reputation intact. Having been involved with this company, many people are going to look to see what decision a company such as yours would take. Maintaining your reputation within the business community is a must. Parting ways with this contract with the previous company may bring another company to offer a contract at the same price because of the way you handled the outcome of the previous company. To come to my final decision, I would approach it in a nonprogrammed decision and utilitarian approach. â€Å"A nonprogrammed decision is one made in response to a situation that is unique, is poorly defined and largely unstructured, and has important consequences for the organization. Decisions differ according to the amount of certainty, risk, uncertainty, or ambiguity in the situation (Daft, 2012, pg. 36). Making this decision for the company, I have to look at all angles. Will my decision ruin the company or will it enhance the company. This isn’t a decision that can be done overnight. This decision isn’t based on one person but a company. Allowing myself to make the best decision for the greatest outcome for the greatest beneficial for the company. Allowing myself a week to weigh my options and once my decision has been made, present them to the company so they can see why I came to this decision. My decision would be to part ways with this company for the good of my company.

Neo Shamanism, Organ Transplants, Ayurveda, And...

Our group chose ethnomedicine for our digital poster, bringing together the topics of neo-shamanism, organ transplants in biomedical organ transplants, Ayurveda, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In discussing potential intersectionality between our areas of interest, we quickly recognized a continuum that placed biomedicine—as a mechanistically informed approach focusing on individuals and pathologies—on one end of the spectrum, and shamanism—with its focus on the ‘unseen’ aspects of existence and the vital connection of all life forms (fig. 4)—at the other. The highly systemized nature of TCM and its emphasis on the mechanisms of physiology, pathologies and the anatomical system placed it next to biomedicine on the continuum; Ayurveda was closest to shamanism in our assessment, due to a more explicit acknowledgment of the interaction between the mental, personality and physical aspects of health. While this provided a base of compariso n, we struggled with creating a theme that could portray the idea in a meaningful way—why is this continuum from biomechanical to spiritual important? How does it impact the lives of human beings? It was upon reflection on the mind/body dichotomy that we glimpsed insight suitable for a narrative; playing on the concept of body parts (fig. 1) in light of Jonathan’s focus on transplants, Kalycia brought up Frankenstein. TCM’s theory of qi offered an analogous relationship to Dr. Frankenstein’s use of electricity in animating his
